COMPANY PROFILE
The Chairman, Tea Board
of India, granted our Company a license to operate as Tea Brokers in
Siliguri in October 1991 under the auspices of the Siliguri Tea
Auction Committee( STAC) . The Company’s main business is concentrated
in Siliguri, and, Mr. Rajiv K. Puri, Chairman & Managing Director, ably
assisted by Mr. Partha Dey – Director, and a trained Team of professional
Executives and Staff manage the broking operations. In the short span of
sixteen years since the Company was granted a license, it has grown to be
the 2nd largest broker in Siliguri. We have, since
June,2002 been granted a License to operate in the
Kolkata
Auction Center under the
auspices of the
Calcutta Tea Traders
Association ( CTTA)
, and, we have now also obtained our License to operate in the
Guwahati
Auction Center under
the auspices of the Guwahati Tea Auction Committee (GTAC). Our
Guwahati operations started from Sale No. 34 which was held on 24th
August,200 1. MARKETING
SHARE/BUSINESS PERCENTAGE The following Market Share and Business percentage figures in Siliguri , Kolkata and Guwahati will speak for themselves concerning the growth of the Company’s business. The
first official sale conducted by Parcon (India) Private Limited was on 12th
& 13th December 1991. Sale No.50 saw Parcon entering the market
with only 9 gardens selling their teas through our Catalogue. The total
quantity, both Leaf and Dust was approximately 43,000 Kgs. In 2005-2006
over 169 gardens have entrusted us with the sale of their teas in Siliguri
and Kolkata and Guwahati. In June, 2002, we were licensed by the Tea Board
to operate in the Kolkata Auction Center under the auspices of the Calcutta
Tea Traders Association (CTTA) and in 2004 we opened our Branch in Guwahati.

ABOUT THE COMPANY Our Company is a Private Limited Company with an Authorised Capital of Rs.50,00,000.00. The Registered Head office is located at Poddar Point, North Block, 9th Floor, 113, Park Street, Kolkata – 700016. The majority of the Shares are held by family members who are the Promoters of this venture. These Promoters are namely, Mr. J.C. Nijhawan, Mrs. Rajni Nijhawan, Mr. Ratindra K. Puri, Mrs. Preeti Puri and Mr. Rajiv K. Puri and Mrs, Malini Puri. The majority of the rest of the shares are held by our Executives and Staff. 3. BOARD OF DIRECTORS Mr. Rajiv K. Puri, Chairman & Managing Director, was an Executive with Carritt Moran and Company Private Limited and has over 30 years of experience in Tea Broking. The other Directors of the Board are as follows: a. Mr.I.K.Howard – Director -Ex-Manager, Grindlays Bank Plc b. Mr.Partha Dey – Director – Ex – Contemporary Targetts c. Mr. Savindar Singh – Director – Ex. J. Thomas & Co Pvt Ltd Mr. J.C. Nijhawan – President Emeritus, Parcon Group of Companies, ( this includes our sister concerns Select Commodities Private Limited and Topline Products Private Limited ) is the Ex- Chairman & Managing Director, Andrew Yule & Company Ltd and is the Advisor to the Parcon Group of Companies. 4.MANAGEMENT PROFILE With the establishment of an Auction Center Office in Kolkata, and, with the opening of Guwahati Branch, the Company has been divided into four separate Profit Centers:- 1. Siliguri Profit Center – Responsible for Auctioning teas in STAC, Siliguri. 2. Kolkata Profit Center – Responsible for Auctioning teas in CTTA, Kolkata 3. Guwahati Profit Center – Responsible for Auctioning teas in GTAC, Guwahati Corporate Office, Kolkata. – Responsible for Company Administration, Finance & Banking. Siliguri Profit Center.
Mr. Rajiv K. Puri,
Chairman & Managing Director, ( Ex-Carritt Moran) has over 31 years of
experience as an Auctioneer and Tea Taster. Other Executives include Mr.
Partha Dey, Director and Head of the Siliguri Profit Center ( Ex-
Contemporary Brokers Ltd) , and, Mr. Vikas Srivastava, (Ex- Williamson
Magors) are all based in Siliguri. In addition, we have Mr. Evarist
Rodrigues as a Manufacturing Advisor to the Group. Kolkata
Profit Center. In Kolkata, we have Mr. Savindar Singh, ( Ex-J. Thomas & Co) Director and Head of the Kolkata Profit Center ably assisted by Mr. Prasun Roy Chowdhury ( Ex-A.W. Figgis) , all of whom have over 10 – 17 years experience as Brokers and are fully conversant with all aspects related to the broking of teas at the Siliguri Auction Center, Kolkata Auction Center and Guwahati Auction Centre. Deepak Gogoi, General Manager, ( Ex- Contemporary Brokers Pvt Ltd – with
over 21 years experience) is the Profit Center Head together with Mr. Naba
Jyoti Sarma (Ex -Tea Brokers Guwahati – 16 years experience), both of whom
have good experience in handling Assam teas. The Guwahati Branch is now
fully operational and we are confident of expanding our business in Assam in

Nijhawan, President Emeritus of the Parcon Group of Companies, is The Ex-Chairman & Managing Director of Andrew Yule & Company Limited, with over 55 years of experience in Managerial and Commercial activities. He is assisted by Mr. I.K. Howard, Director, ( Ex- Manager Grindlays Bank Plc) with over 36 years experience in the field of Finance. Mr. Howard , in turn, is assisted by a trained group of Accountants – Mr. S. Gupta and Mr. D. Maiti. In addition, we have over 20 trained and professional staff handling all aspects of Pre-Sale and Post-Sale operations. In all the Branch Offices in Siliguri , Kolkata and Guwahati we have a fully operational infrastructure with adequate Office space, tasting rooms, fully computerized systems and accounts, telephones, e-mails, fax facilities and a web-site ( being constantly up-dated) at our disposal to service all our clients needs. 5.
